Ornex

Only a few kilometers from Geneva, Switzerland, Ornex is a

medieval village in the Ain department of eastern France, tucked

away in the scenic Pays de Gex. Ornex, which has developed over

Ornex's oldest structure and one of its most recognizable

structures, was first recorded in the town's records in the middle of

the 12th century. The church has had a number of changes

throughout the years, notably the early 19th-century restoration of

its bell tower from the 15th century. Inside the nave, visitors may

view magnificent murals from the 15th century that portray Saint

Christopher and Saint Brice. Constructed in the first part of the 15th

century, the Upper House of Ornex is another historical treasure.

This building enhances the town's cultural relevance and shows its

medieval origins.
